"DNA-based molecular nanowires"
Theory group meeting
Room: Phys 4.1.13, University of Regensburg
| kick-off meeting of the theory group of the
EU
project "DNA based nanowires" in Regensburg. scope
- collecting a list of methods which constitute the
expertise of the different partners and identify possible
integration and synergetic activities
- identify a set of systems relevant for the project
that may be addressed with the available methods, and put
priorities, i.e., decide which systems (molecular structures,
metallic species, etc... and which series (or parallel) of
calculations may bring the maximum insight into the electronic
and transport properties of G4-DNA and M-DNA
- assign the tasks to each individual group in the first
period (6 months) and in the first year, with common
activities at least in the second half of the year
agenda
- 10.30 - 11.00: get together
- 11.00 - 11.10: intro (GC)
- 11.10 - 11.45: theory-group composition, deliverables, and
milestones (RD)
- 11.00 - 13.00: common discussion on
the available methods in the team and the possible
interconnections
- 13.00 - 14.00: lunch
- 14.00 - 16.30: discussion of the open problems in the
current literature on DNA charge transfer and transport, with
identification of the selected problems that we are able to
address and that may shed light onto relevant open issues
- 16.30 - 17.00: break
- 17.00 - 18.30: assign specific tasks to each group
(phone connection with Angel)
- 19.30: concert
- 21:30(?): dinner at "Andechser am Dom"
