Start-up of the Young Investigators Group "InnovaSens"

On March 1st, the newly established interdisciplinary young investigators group "InnovaSens" has started at the Chair of Materials Science and Nanotechnology. Funded by the European Social Funds in Saxony (ESF), six PhD students and one post-doc researcher will study nanowire-based biosensor systems, which are able to change their electronic structure and conduction properties when connected to single biomolecules. The aim of the project for the next three years is to gain a comprehensive understanding of the underlying principles for the further development of a single molecule sensor.
