Strongly curved quantum wires as spin-switchers We have found that a strongly curved one-dimensional ballistic wire with intrinsic spin-orbit interactions can redistribute the current density between the two spin-split modes and, thus, makes it possible to change the initial spin-polarization without using ferromagnetic contacts, tunneling barriers, external radiation etc. Assuming parameters relevant for InAs we propose a schema of a reflectionless spin-switcher based on this effect.
