Persistent spin current and local spin density in a tubular 2DEG with Rashba spin-orbit coupling

The properties of local spin current and local spin density in a tubular two-dimensional electron gas (2DEG) system with Rashba spin-orbit coupling (SOC) is investigated by Landauer-Keldysh formalism (LKF). In equilibrium cases (no bias voltage), it is this Rashba SOC that induces the persistent spin current with distinctive symmetry in the system in the absence of external magnetic field. In non-equilibrium cases, the numerical results show current-induced spin polarization phenomenon in the system. Moreover, a spin-independent impurity breaking the rotational symmetry of the system induces spin accumulation in non-equilibrium cases.
