Brief Bio:Professor Blick received his Masters degree in physics from the University of Frankfurt, Germany, and his PhD from the Max-Planck Institute for Solid State Physics in Stuttgart, Germany, in 1996. His thesis title was 'Artificial Atoms and Molecules: Single Electron Transistors\A0'. He then joined the California Institute of Technology as a research fellow in 1996 where he worked on Nanomechanical Resonators. In 1997 he became Assistant Professor at the University of Munich, Germany. In January 2003 he joined the Electrical & Computer Engineering Department of the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he currently is Lynn H. Matthias Professor in Engineering. Blick's research results have been published in more than 150 papers in principal technical journals. He has given numerous presentations in national and international conferences. |
