Robert Biele

former Senior scientist

Stay period:May 15, 2018 - Aug. 31, 2022

Robert studied physics at the TU Dresden and at the Queen Mary University of London (UK). For his PhD he joined the Nano-Bio Spectroscopy Group in San Sebastian (Spain). There, he worked with Prof. Roberto D'Agosta and Prof. Angel Rubio on different fields of theoretical physics, ranging from quantum transport over non-equilibrium thermodynamics to the first-principle modeling of the optical and electrical properties of 2D materials (DFT, GW, BSE). After defending his thesis in San Sebastian, Robert stayed another year as a postdoc in the group of Prof. Angel Rubio. In 2018, he has been awarded the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action Grant to conduct research with Prof. Gianaurelio Cuniberti on thermoelectricity in nanomaterials at the Institute of Materials Science, TU Dresden.
