Electronic properties of carbon nanotubes and fullerenes, basics

Recent studies on the basic properties of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and fullerenes will be presented. I will focus on CNTs from the view point of its electronic properties and gas-solid interactions. Especially, conduction mechanisms in single-walled (SW) CNTs networks and hydrogen adsorption in SWCNTs will be discussed. A simple application of a fullerene-based material is shown, as well as a FET characterization of C60-polymer thin films.
I will also introduce our research group at SONY and our research target; briefly.
