Brief Bio:Thomas studied physics at the Dresden University of Technology. He worked in the group of Dr. Sebastian Fähler at the Institute for Solid State Research - IFW Dresden - and got his diploma on phase formation and magnetism of thin Fe-Pd films. Later he joined the electrochemistry group of Prof. Ehrenberg at the Institute for Complex Materials at the IFW Dresden were he wrote his doctoral thesis about transport in Lithium-Oxygen cells. The same year he changed to our chair and became a member of Dr. Bobeth's group of computational material science where he worked on developing models for a range of electrochemical problems such as Lithium-ion cells, electrodeposition and trench superfilling. Currently he continues work as a research associate on battery simulation and is also involved in teaching computational materials science topics such as finite element method. |
