Didem Nur Ünal studied chemical engineering at Gazi University. Then, she continued her master's degree in biotechnology at Ege University under the supervision of Prof. Dr. K. Arzum Erdem Gürsan. During her master's degree, she worked on electrochemical biosensors detection of drug-DNA interaction, developing a new platform with nucleic acids and nanomaterials etc. at her supervisor's laboratory, nanoBioSensLab. She continues her Ph.D. under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Bengi Uslu at Ankara University, Department of Analytical Chemistry. She’s been part of the team at Bengi Uslu’s laboratory and worked on the drug-DNA interaction with different analytical techniques, drug analysis and aptasensors for the detection of disease biomarkers. Since December 2023, as a guest researcher from Turkey with a TUBITAK-2214A scholarship she joined the chair of Prof. Gianaurelio Cuniberti attended TU Dresden. She focuses on designing biosensor platforms with different transducers to detect important biological molecules (proteins, DNA, miRNA, etc.).
