Ile Kim is a master’s student in Molecular Bioengineering at TU Dresden. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Life Science in South Korea and gained international research experience during a one-year internship (2021–2022) at the Max Rubner-Institut in Kiel, Germany.
For her master’s thesis, she investigates cognitive construction materials that enable environmental sensing in structural materials. The project explores the integration of MOFs grown on conductive materials such as carbon nanotubes into cement matrices and uses impedance spectroscopy to detect environmental factors.
