Matthias studied information technology at the Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg (Germany) from 2004 to 2010. He focused on microsystems technology and wrote his diploma thesis at the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf on the topic "Electrical Contacting of Vertical Nanostructures". For his Ph.D. thesis he stayed in the group of Dr. Artur Erbe (HZDR) and is now working in collaboration with us on the electrical characterization of single molecules and DNA fragments in a lab newly established at our Hallwachsstrasse building.
