Weiran Duan studied Metallic Materials Engineering at Wuhan University of Science and Technology, where he obtained his Bachelor’s degree in 2020. Since 2022, he has been studying Materials Science at TUD Dresden University of Technology. From September to November 2024, he worked as a Student Research Assistant at the Chair of Molecular Functional Materials, where he focused on the synthesis and characterization of graphene quantum dots. From March to September 2026, he worked as a Student Research Assistant at the Leibniz Institute for Solid State and Materials Research Dresden (IFW Dresden), where he worked on the synthesis and purification of fullerenes, graphite electrodes, HPLC analysis, and carbon-based nanomaterials.
He joins the Environmental Nanotechnology group as a Diploma Student to complete his mandatory internship (Fachpraktikum) as part of his Diplom studies in Materials Science at TUD Dresden University of Technology.
