This year’s hiking day combined outdoor activity with stunning scenery along the Elbe and the Saxon Wine Trail.
The group met at Schillerplatz and crossed the iconic “Blaues Wunder” bridge to Körnerplatz, where the suspension railway (Schwebebahn) provided a relaxing ride and breathtaking views without starting the day with a steep climb. From there, the hike followed the Saxon Wine Trail toward Pillnitz, including a picnic lunch along the way to enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
In the afternoon, participants arrived in Pillnitz, where there was time to enjoy cake at the famous Wippler bakery, ice cream, and coffee. The day concluded with a boat ride back to Schillerplatz.
The day was filled with fresh air, beautiful landscapes, and time to relax while exploring the region together. A big thanks to the organizing team and all participants for their enthusiasm, curiosity, and good spirits. We look forward to seeing everyone at next year’s hiking day!
