This week, from August 21 to 24, an International Summer School of the Materials 4.0 series is organized by TU Dresden under the motto "Data-driven exploration and design of materials". During this event, more than 30 students and young scientists from 14 countries are meeting with internationally recognized experts to discuss recent developments and promising applications of data-driven approaches to cross-scale exploration and design of novel materials.
The School is hosted by the Dresden Center for Computational Materials Science (DCMS), the Dresden Center for Intelligent Materials (DCIM), and the Research Training Group DCube (GRK 2868) Data-Driven Design of Resilient Metamaterials. For the latter, in which our chair is involved, the school represents the kick-off event before the first group of graduates starts its research activities in October 2023.
