Brief Bio:

Federico De Luca studies Nanotechnology and Physics of Matter at the University of Salento (Lecce, Italy) and he is scholar of “Scuola Superiore ISUFI”, the school for outstanding students of his university. In 2016 he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering at University of Salento. For his Bachelor’s thesis he worked with Prof. Marco Mazzeo and Mr. Armando Genco in the Photonics and Optoelectronics group of the CNR Nanotec (Lecce, Italy) on “Analysis and development of OLED microcavities in strong coupling regime”. His interests span from Statistical Physics and Soft Matter to Optolectronics. He recently joined the group of Prof. Gianaurelio Cuniberti for an Erasmus internship and he plans to work on Monte Carlo simulations of 2D molecular self-assembly. He is confident of the value of such an experience because of the opportunity to learn a research method in the theoretical Physics, that will be fundamental for his master degree thesis and for his future life as a scientist.
