Gerda holds a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Southern Denmark, where she focused on cancer research. After completing her PhD in 2014, she worked in the pharmaceutical industry, gaining experience in diverse roles, including Medical Manager, Project Manager, and Manager of Process Validation.
In 2024, she joined the Chair of Materials Science and Nanotechnology. With a strong background in biochemistry, molecular biology, and nearly a decade of industry experience, Gerda brings a unique perspective to her research and her role within KoMMet. Her vision is to combine nanotechnology to address societal challenges such as environmental sustainability and healthcare innovation, while ensuring its successful transfer to industry.
Her work focuses on bridging academia and industry, establishing collaborative transfer projects with practical, real-world applications. Her expertise in project management (traditional and agile) further supports her mission to deliver tailored solutions for industry, particularly in areas where medical and life sciences insights are essential.
