Leonardo Medrano carried out his bachelor studies at the Faculty of Physical Sciences of the National University of San Marcos (Lima, Peru) from 2005 to 2009. Then, he achieved the degree of Licentiate in Physics in 2010. As a member of the Condensed Matter Group (GIMC) of this institution, in 2012, he got the Master in Physics. His master-thesis, done under the advice of Dr. Carlos Landauro, is about the influence of disorder (chemical and structural) on the atomic structure and electronic properties of Cu and Ag monometallic nanoparticles. In December 2013, he joined the group of Prof. Gianaurelio Cuniberti as PhD student in cooperation with the International Max Planck Research School (IMPRS). In Dresden, Leonardo plans to work on multiscale model on materials.
