Shirong Huang has been a postdoctoral researcher at the Chair of Materials Science and Nanotechnology, TU Dresden, since April 2022. His research interest includes: novel 2D materials synthesis, development of 2D materials-based smart gas sensors and their various applications (e.g., VOCs identification, gas detection, breath analysis, disease diagnosis, etc.), as well as the understanding of gas sensing mechanism in nanoscale via molecular dynamics simulations. He received his Ph.D. degree under the supervision of Prof. Gianaurelio Cuniberti at TU Dresden, Germany, in April 2022.

Prior to joining TU Dresden, his research work mainly focused on carbon nanomaterial synthesis and their application as thermal management materials in high-power electronic devices at Shanghai University, China, where he got his master degree in April 2014. He obtained his bachelor degree on Mechanical Engineering from Northwest A&F University, China, in July, 2011.
